Adult Fitness Overview

Recommended for participants of all ages and abilities, our Basic Yoga classes will help you release tension from your body and balance your spiritual energy. Each class is taught by a certified Yoga instructor from Fitness RX.  Classes are held on Monday and Thursday evenings. Participants must be at least 14 years of age to participate and those under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.  If space is available, drop-in participation is welcome.

Learn to Line Dance at the Recreation Authority! Our program is perfect for the novice line dancer, but just as exciting for the highly skilled! Classes are offered for both singles as well as couples and music ranges from Rock and Country to the 50’s and 60’s. A six-week Basic Beginners Class is offered at the start of every season, for those seeking a crash course in the fundamental steps and music.

The Recreation Authority offers ON GOING, year round Drop-In Zumba Fitness classes so you can dance your way into a healthier you. Zumba classes provide a large calorie burn through aerobic activity done with interval training.   It could become an essential part of your workout routine! Classes are offered Monday & Wednesday Evenings, for a nominal drop-in fee.

Designed for the over-50 crowd, our Zumba Gold classes provide senior residents with the ability to seamlessly develop new rhythms that will enhance their workout regimens.  Aside from its heart-health benefits, Zumba provides a workout for the whole body. From head and shoulder rolls that loosen up the neck and warm up the upper body, to footwork that strengthens and stretches calves and ankles, this fitness method touches on nearly every muscle and joint. Most participants have so much fun they forget they’re even exercising! Drop-In Zumba Gold is offered for a nominal fee on Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings.

This class fuses Pilates and Isometric exercises with free-weight lifts and stretches to forge flexible, toned physiques. It also helps with your balance and posture. A chair will be used where a Barre is not available. This method integrates the fat burning format of interval training, the muscle shaping technique of isometrics, the elongating principles of dance conditioning, and the science of physical therapy to create a revolutionary new workout.

Partner Yoga/Stretch is a form of Hatha yoga in which partners support each other in modified asana (yoga pose) sequences.  This class will help you connect in a revitalizing, strengthening, energizing and uplifting way!

This fitness class combines high energy dance music, movement, and cross training with TENNIS! Each class offers a warm-up, cardio workout, cool down and stretch segment. Designed for all ability levels, this class will boost your fitness routine and introduce you to the game of tennis! Classes are offered on Tuesday evenings for ages 14 – Adult.

Designed for pick-up basketball games with quality community atmosphere, our open gym nights provide a much-needed break from the 9-5 lifestyle. Open Gym is offered Tuesday evenings and is open to the first 30 participants each night. A Recreation Center I.D. Card must be purchased at the start of the season and there will be an admission charge each night upon sign-in.

Back by popular demand!  We are bringing back our Men’s 35+ Open Gym.  This is a pickup program.   A Recreation Center I.D. Card must be purchased at the start of the season and there will be an admission charge each night upon sign-in.  NO Dunking or spectators are allowed in this Open Gym!

The Recreation Authority’s Co-Rec Volleyball League has evolved into one of the most popular programs that we offer. Join the fun and register your team! This 7-team league runs December through March, with games on Wednesday evenings.

Our men’s softball league presents adults with the opportunity to take-on teams across the local region within an arena of friendly competition. The season typically begins in early May and runs through late October. Information on next season will be released in December.

No need to drive miles to lay beach volleyball somewhere else – we ill be offering a league at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Roseville this season!  Check out the program information page for details on this league.

In partnership with Fraser Parks and Recreation
Join us this summer for Wednesday Night Football.  The season will include 8 games plus playoffs.  Games will be played under the lights at Steffens Park in Fraser.  League starts in May.
